Bernd Rinser – RootsRock

As a composer and arranger I write in the genres of folk, blues, Americana and beyond. In my roughly 100 concerts per year my music ... my songs and instrumentals – gathered under the name RootsRock – belong only to me.

Bernd Rinser – RootsRockBand
Trio

Bernd Rinser: vocals, ac. guitar, ac. slide guitar,
harmonicas, foot drums
Christoph John until November 2016: electric guitar
Bernhard Schönke: electric bass

This is the name of the trio line-up with a bass player and an additional guitarist ... and even in this line-up the lonely wolf has to develop into a team player. The whole is more than the sum of its parts or of individual performances. That’s the only way my music can become our music.

The Blue-Eyed Grass Orchestra

Blue-eyed grass is quite an unassuming plant. That's how it is with us, too. Of course each of us is the most important person in their own eyes; but in the grand scheme of things we’re nothing but dust.

»There are songs that come free from the blue-eyed grass, from the dust of a thousand country roads.« That’s the opening sentence of Robert James Waller’s novel The Bridges of Madison County. It says it all really ... and it gave us the name of the larger band line-up.

And the bigger the line-up gets, the greater the challenge to each individual to prove themselves as a team player. Because under the broad arc of a Blue-Eyed Grass Orchestra concert, the only thing that counts is the overall performance.
